Orochimaru Black and White study - Pt.2


So I didn't get around to finishing this tonight as planned because I ended up reworking a lot of it! Much happier with it now though even if the neck is still giving me headaches. It's taught me a lot about how to use my light and shadow to create form, so I think next time I am going to attempt doing a black and white painting of a real person, bit more of a challenge I think! Orochimaru Black and White Study - Very Early W.I.P


I have been working on this for the past couple of hours, getting a little frustrated so going to carry on tomorrow. It's supposed to be a study in light and shadow, I find that one of my biggest problems is that my shadows are never defined enough, so I am trying to really practise it to improve essentially. Hopefully it will look better tomorrow. Till next time!

Sketchbook Work Pt.3

The character design bug has got it's hooks into me today! Decided to progress further with the troll engineer, so I did a full body sketch, it's heavily steampunk inspired, I can't get enough of that genre these days it seems! Going to scan this into photoshop when I get back. Stay tuned. 

Sketchbook Work Pt.2

Another day another set of sketches. Was trying to make a zombie type character that would work in an app game, think it came out right, maybe not cute enough for what I was going for but it's only rough sketches. Messed around with using pro markers this time to add some much needed shade to my designs! Till next time.

Not at home this weekend, so I cracked out the biro's and notepad and did a little bit of doodling. Came up with this fantasy troll style engineer, might take it further and build it in maya eventually. Till next time!

Beginnings

So new blog needs a first post, I was going to do the whole long introduction but really who haves time for that?? So I thought I would show you what I am up to at the moment. If you're a fan of eptic then I am sure you will recognise this guy. He's all built now, so it's onto UV mapping him and texturing him next, stay tuned.....
